WEIGHT LIMITS ON COUNTY TRUNK HIGHWAYS

The Shawano County Highway Department is announcing seasonal posting of spring weight limits
on various County roads in Shawano County. The weight limits become effective on Wednesday,
March 11, 2026.

Haulers will need to watch for the signs restricting load limits. A list of the
posted roads is available at http://www.co.shawano.wi.us/ . The weight restrictions are 6 tons for
a single axle, 10 tons for a tandem axle, maximum gross weight is 26 tons.

Seasonal weight restrictions are placed on specific highways during the spring thaw period. The
restrictions are placed to prevent damage to the pavement structure and extend the life of the
pavement.
