Garbage & Recycling

The Town of Wittenberg's garbage and recycle pick-up day is every THURSDAY. If a legal holiday falls on any Monday (Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc), the pick-up day will then be moved a day ahead, to Friday.

 

If you've recently moved into a new residence in the Town of Wittenberg and are in need of a Harter's Disposal garbage cart and/or recycle cart, please contact the Town Clerk at (715)253-3222, or send an email to: [email protected]. 

 

During WINTER MONTHS do NOT place your carts on, or near the road! Keep your carts about about 3-4 feet back from the road, in a cleared spot, or close to the end of your driveway. If carts are found placed on the road, and the plow has to go around your cart(s)when plowing snow, a warning will be issued for the 1st offence, $100 fine for 2nd offence, $200 for 3rd offense and each time after.

Town residents are responsible for the cost to replace any carts if they are damaged beyond repair (unusable), lost or stolen. To order a "replacement garbage and/or recycle cart" call Harter's Disposal at (888) 804-8556, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30pm.

This is a FREE event for Town of Wittenberg residents only and is held in early summer of odd numbered years only. Watch our website for more information and what type of electronics are accepted on this day! 

 

Only household, landfillable items/garabge will be accepted. (As in a couch, dresser, table, cushions, wooden bed frames, chairs, end tables, rugs, plastic kid toys, etc.) Please DO NOT put out any metal or steel items (grills, appliances, etc.) Place these items out the evening before with your regular trash and recycles.
