The Town of Wittenberg is a charming small town located in far western Shawano County, Wisconsin. The Town of Wittenberg was founded in the late 1800’s and is located approximately 65 miles west of Green Bay, 30 miles east of Wausau and 30 miles South of Antigo, with State Highway 29, and U.S. Highway 45 running right through our cozy town of 827 residents.
Despite its small size, the Town of Wittenberg has a vibrant community spirit where education is a point of pride, with excellent schools (GO CHARGERS!) and a supportive environment for families.
The Town of Wittenberg is a haven for nature enthusiasts. The scenic beauty of the area invites outdoor activities such as hiking, snowmobiling, biking, fishing, and birdwatching. The Wiouwash & Mountain Bay State trails, the Embarrass River Park area off County Road Q, Homme Pond and Panic Park provide the perfect backdrops for leisurely strolls or family picnics.
