TOWN OF WITTENBERG, SHAWANO COUNTY, WISCONSIN

 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE TOWN OF WITTENBERG BUILDING INSPECTOR’S UNIFORM DWELLING CODE FEE SCHEDULE

Resolution No.: 2026-8-24-01

WHEREAS, the Town of Wittenberg, Shawano County, Wisconsin, administers and enforces the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC), as established under Wisconsin Statutes and Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapters SPS 320–325, Uniform Dwelling Code, and SPS 327 Camping Units; and

WHEREAS, Wisconsin Administrative Code § SPS 320.09(3)(a) provides that a municipality shall, by ordinance, determine fees to cover the expenses of plan examination, inspection, and issuance of the Wisconsin Uniform Building Permit; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Wittenberg has appointed a Building Inspector to administer and enforce the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code within the Town; and

WHEREAS, the Building Inspector has prepared and recommended a schedule of fees for UDC plan review, building permits, inspections, and related services; and

WHEREAS, the Town Board has reviewed the proposed fee schedule and finds that the fees are reasonable and necessary to recover the costs associated with administering and enforcing the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code; and

WHEREAS, the Town Board intends that the fees established by this Resolution apply to permits and services administered by the Town Building Inspector under the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code, subject to applicable Wisconsin statutes and administrative rules.

WHEREAS, the Town Board has reviewed the proposed fee schedule and finds that the fees are reasonable and necessary to recover the costs associated with administering

The applicable Wisconsin Uniform Building Permit Seal fee shall be collected and remitted to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services as required by Wisconsin law. The current state-required permit seal fee is established by Wis. Admin. Code § SPS 302.34.

 Section 3. Building Inspector Authority

The Town Building Inspector is authorized to administer the adopted fee schedule, collect applicable fees, and perform the duties necessary to administer and enforce the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code in accordance with applicable Wisconsin statutes, administrative rules, and Town ordinances.

 Section 4. Fee Schedule Amendments

Any amendment to the fee schedule shall be approved by the Town Board in accordance with applicable law. The Building Inspector may recommend changes to the fee schedule when necessary to reflect changes in state law, administrative requirements, inspection costs, or the cost of administering the UDC.

Section 5. Effective Date

This Resolution shall take effect upon its adoption by the Town Board and shall remain in effect until amended or repealed by subsequent action of the Town Board.

Section 6. Repeal of Conflicting Fee Schedules

Any prior Town resolution, fee schedule, or portion thereof that is inconsistent with this Resolution is hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

Section 7. Severability

If any provision of this Resolution or the application of this Resolution to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or applications of this Resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect.

UDC Building Permit- New Dwelling            $200.00 flat fee + .30 per sq ft Finished living  space.                                                                                                                                             Minimum $650.00

 

Note: Fees shall be collected in accordance with applicable Wisconsin Statutes, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and Town ordinances. The Wisconsin permit seal fee is separate from municipal fees and shall be remitted to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services as required by state law.
